The Draft Master Plan is Out

Today Council has released a draft Master Plan for the Dalmeny bushland. Please let us know your thoughts and concerns. We are preparing points to share with Councillors before they are asked to endorse this Plan for Public Exhibition.

The map shows the 'developable area' in pink.
One thing many people will immediately notice is this area includes much of the beautiful bushland right behind existing housing.

This is exactly the area we were asking Council to save back in 2021 because so many people value it for walking, riding, birdwatching and being in nature.

Quiet streets like Elanora, Tatiara, Mummaga, Thompson and Eucalyptus Drive will be access roads.

Many people will be rightly worried about the native birds and animals that visit their gardens and live in this bush.

We know that the area in pink closer to the State Forest and Princess Highway has many, many old hollow bearing trees. Threatened Glossy Black Cockatoos and Yellow-bellied Gliders cannot afford to lose more habitat.

What are your thoughts?
